Spring starts officially on March 21st and the clocks change to British Summer Time on 27th - so it will be pleasantly warm and dry on 28th for the Duncton ride! Well, maybe, but if not, unusually for a downland ride much of the route is through woodland and you will be sheltered from the worst of the weather, also unusually for a downland ride there are very few gates to negotiate. If you're behind with your fitness programme - and who isn't after this winter - we have a class of only 21km involving one ascent and descent of the Downs. If you are up to more you can do an extra 7km with a long canter through pretty beech woods, or climb up to the back of Goodwood racecourse in the 32km class. Beautiful views from the South Downs Way, some nice sandy going across Ambersham Common, and the last leg back through the grounds of Seaford College, a former stately home. Come and give it a try!
