The ride (formerly known as Duncton) will run from a new venue in 2012 and is re-christened The Graffham Down Training Ride. The venue will be on the South Downs Way at Manor Farm, Hillbarn Lane, Cocking, Midhurst, West Sussex, GU29 0HS, by kind permission of Mr. and Mrs. Marks. It will cover the same territory as the Duncton ride but with a few minor changes of route and in the reverse direction. There will be 3 classes:
1. 39 km
2. 30 km
3. 22km.

All classes will cover a variety of terrain including the pretty beech woodlands on the south side of the Downs, sandy heathland on the commons east of Midhurst, a good cardiovascular workout up the steep side of the Downs, and a stretch of the South Downs Way with splendid views north to the Weald and North Downs. The route is more sheltered than most of the other downland rides and has very few gates.
Depending on the support we get from riders AND HELPERS in 2012 we are considering trying to upgrade this to a national ride in the future - it's up to you if you would like to see this happen!
