Sunday 6^th	Hale Court Training Ride Withyham, East Sussex	CANCELLED - The South East Group training ride at Hale Court was sadly cancelled on Sunday 6th April due to adverse conditions caused by snow. Penny Hook, Secretary for the ride has since been contacted by various riders either asking for a refund (i.e. for their cheque not to be cashed) or to tell her to keep the monies as a donation to SE Group funds.  This would help greatly towards expenses already incurred which are non-refundable. Penny would be grateful if you could advise soonest if not at least by Friday 16th May if you would like your cheque returned or shredded or if you wish your cheque to be cashed i.e. donated into Group funds.  After this date, all cheques still held will be shredded anyway.  You can call her on 01323 762607. Should you wish your cheque returned to you, please send an s.a.e. to Penny Hook, 9 Cheviot Close, Eastbourne, East Sussex BN23 8ET Please advise her of the actual name on the cheque and amount (this is because some cheques are received on behalf of more than rider or under a different name and she may therefore not be able to tie up the cheque to a name.

July Sunday 6^th	Plumpton Racecourse, West Sussex 1. 42km CR 2. 42km Novice CR 3. 30km CR 4. 30km Novice CR 5. 20km NCR	Entries: Jane Cook, 29, Nye Road, Burgess Hill, West Sussex, RH15 0JY Entries open: Friday 09 May 2008 Entries close: Monday 23 June 2008 Lots of Variety; The South Downs plus nearly 10k of lanes and bridleways to warm you up before the big climb. Lovely views and some nice downland canter stretches on top. Not an easy ride but great for conditioning; a couple of steep climbs and a few flints plus lots of gates! Limited crewing but water available at checkpoints. Up to date Flu Vac Cerificate (photocopy) must accompany entry if stabling overnight.

So come and enjoy the fabulous views. The routes will remain much as last year, with minor chances to avoid some of the less enjoyable bits. The only trouble with going up over ours hills is having to come down them again! The Park has acres of grass for camping and coralling, and the local pub did us proud in 2006/7, being a mere 400 metres form the Park. The atmosphere is always friendly, do let's see if we can make it an even better event in 2008. A ford must be crossed twice, approx knee deep depending on rainfall. There are no bridges. Most of the route in forest so please carry a map. Please add £1 per competitor to help towards permit surcharge (acutal permit paid for you). No dogs at all are permitted at the venue. Crewing is limited so some drinking water points for the horses will be provided.
